    scaget - Simple Channel Access Command Line Get

SYNOPSIS
    scaget [nelm] channel_name [[[nelm] channel_name] ...]
    
    scaget <name_list

DESCRIPTION

Launched with command line arguments

scaget gets the values of the IOC channels whose channel names are on the
command line.  By default one element is gotten per channel.  This may
be changed by placing the number of elements(nelm) desired before any channel
name.  The number becomes the new default for subsequent channels. For example,

	scaget wf1.DESC 16 wf1.VAL 1 wf1.DESC 16 wf2.VAL

	scaget wf1.DESC wf2.desc 16  wf1.VAL wf2.VAL

	scaget 16  wf1.VAL wf2.VAL 1 wf1.DESC wf2.desc

Launched without command line arguments

scaput gets the values of the IOC channels whose channel names are specified
on standard input.  For example,

	scaput <test_data

Format of standard input

The number of elements and channel name specifications on standard input
are as follows

	1. The channel names and number of elements(nelm) are space and/or tab
	   delimited.  nelm becomes the default for all subsequent channels
	   until it is changed.
	2. Empty lines are ignored.
	3. Lines with # in column 1 are comments.

For example, 

16 wf1.VAL wf2.VAL
1 
el1.VAL el2.VAL
32 wf3.VAL wf4.VAL

CONSIDERATIONS

The maximum number of values that can be gotten from a waveform is 1024.

Channels are gotten using type SCA_STRING.  The format if floating point
values depends upon PREC in the IOC record.
